A virtual reality art tour
The project brief for this assignment was to create an interactive experience integrating emerging technologies. I chose to develop an interactive virtual reality art tour of the Corrigan Walk at Bond University. The Corrigan Walk is Australia's largest private collection of indigenous artworks on public display, located within the newly constructed health sciences building on the Bond University campus.
The development process entailed obtaining a Revit building information model and importing it to Unity3D using the Tridify plugin. Once the model was imported, I began the process of texturing, lighting, adding assets and models as well as virtual reality controllers and interactive buttons to the scene to create an immersive user experience. The entire development process was completed in two and a half weeks.
Software: Unity3D, Autodesk Maya, Revit, Tridify
